The 1 year upgrades might last another month or two but I think it'll normalize at about 18 months - 2+ years even if you're hired now, and if hiring keeps up with attrition once the fleet is staffed. In the grand scheme of things, though...even a 3-4 year upgrade is really good, certainly much better than guys of the past decade realized, through no fault of theirs but simply unfortunate timing. The 10-12 month upgrade is projected to be around until the end of 2016 according to the training department and that is not taking into account anymore 900 options being excercised. Attrition will pick up and they will be renegotitating the SSP numbers to a larger amount, they (they being management) are expecting it to change to a flow and the numbers to be around 10/month going to AA. The short upgrade will be around for every new hire in 2015. Come to PSA this year and you will be a captain in 2016 with a career path to AA. I know its hard the debbie downers to believe but there are some great opportunities for young pilots these days, I wish I was 21 years old again instead of spending my first 9 years in the right seat of an RJ.
