Quote from the financials that I have seen almost daily….I am no Warren Buffett but if gas goes up you must raise fares….unless you want to lose money and file. This really angers me. What kind of economics is this….they didn’t teach this one to me in college. Obviously they want to file….hey how can I be an investor in their stock……NOT!

The increases appear to be a fresh attempt by the fourth largest carrier to crack the $500 barrier, created last winter when Delta announced it would cap its domestic fares at $499.

A few weeks ago Northwest adopted similar fare increases, and several other large carriers matched them, but Delta and American didn't, and the other airlines including Northwest were forced to rescind the increases.
