Hrnt,

The reason they called you right away is, as a military guy, you have no allegiance to the Union way of life. Be advised that if these guys do strike, you, as a probationary pilot will be expected to cross the picket line. If you don't, you'll be fired. If you do, you're a scab. Neither position is optimum.

If I were you, I'd run, not walk away from Allegiant. Read this whole thread and you'll see why these guys are hot to strike. I don't blame them and hope they get a chance to rake this PoS excuses airline over the coals.

BTW, you do realize this mamagement cuts corners on maintenance don't you. They just had ANOTHER air return for smoke in the cabin. Add to that 36 engine fire/failures in the last two years. If you go there, you need to be sharp on your EPs. You might notice the pilots here don't care to hear the truth about their situation. I guess it's because they're ashamed of their bad choices.

At least they're attempting to remedy those choices, but even though they've had an overwhelming positive strike vote, they may just find the numbers don't match those who are willing to walk.

Key point to remember is this...if it goes down while you're on probation, the Union can't protect you. Being a scab is a scarlet letter and getting fired will kill your chances for getting hired at a reputable airline.

Good luck with your choices. From one ex-NATOPS officer to a brother, you can do much better with less career risk.
