Listen, I was a TAR for 6 and a half years and a 121 guy for 24. You can "drop mil" anytime you want, the airline doesn't have to approve it EXCEPT for drill weekend and deployments/activation. I'm sure your buds aren't at airlines about to go on strike or short staffed to the extent Allegiant is. That's the difference.

On the other side of the coin, I'd ask around the squadron about the availability of SPECAC and additional drills. If you're the NATOPS guy at the unit, you already have (by billet) as many additional drills as the law allows. NATOPS guys usually have the luxury of unlimited SPECAC (I did) because the squadron needs you to give Instrument and NATOPS checks.

If you're just an average Joe, you may find your access to SPECAC limited due to budgetary concerns.

With all the airline hiring going on, with your quals, you don't have to jump on the first bandwagon that comes around. Especially if it even has the remotest possibility of putting your career in an untenable position.

Think about it...scab or a termination on you PRIA. Do you really want to be in that position?

P.S. Just reread the thread...You have a CJO from DAL? Are you nuts? Why would you even talk to Allegiant?
