Retirements don't start ramping up until 2017....why the drastic increase in pilot end strength? What is the current total? Must be over 12,500.
My guess is it's a combination of factors with 717 and 737-900 deliveries along with some retirements, increased usage of aircraft already in the fleet, a delay in aircraft retirement and picking up DCI flying that is coming back to mainline (tied to the 717 deliveries).
