If I understand you correctly, you are complaining because there is so much useless blathering that you can't find useful information. And yet you haven't asked a question and all you've done is complain. So...

As a newbie I've asked questions on L&G that have probably been asked a zillion times already and I generally get pretty decent answers with a minimal amount of abuse. Worth it. The hiring and poolie threads have also been pretty useful. I wouldn't recommend reading the billion posts on L&G, but posting questions on there isn't a bad idea.

Oddly enough, I recently found a Facebook thread (?) that has been pretty good. Never expected civility on Facebook, but there you have it.
