Wrong again.

We have many L-UAL pilots who were flying at CAL, went on strike, and were on strike the entire time. They ended up not going back to the CAL after the strike and instead took jobs at United in the mid-late 80s.

Trust me. I've flown with them and they checked their book every time we had a jumpseater from CAL.
