Unless they announce a merger between both companies, then will be a real game changer. Specially because between Alpa companies mergers are by date of hire.
All mergers between two or more ALPA carriers will be governed by the ALPA Merger and Fragmentation Policy. This policy can be found under Section 45 of the ALPA Manual on the ALPA.org website. Each airline would create their own Merger Committee and the committees actions would be bound by this policy.
