It's almost as if he's willing to sacrifice anything to put the other airlines out of business. Cutting off your nose to spite your face, with the aim of putting others out of business is never the way to further the profession.
Why anyone would want their pilot group to carry the burden to bankrupt other airlines is beyond me.
Route66, if your management is so smart, let them put the others out of business without your help. We as pilots did enough to save the airlines after 9/11. Twenty years is a long time to wait to catch up.
It's individual mindsets like yours that has been the BANE of the industry. Not one particular pilot group.
While I don't agree completely with everything Route66 said, I do think if pilots from Airline A can do something to beat their competition at Airline B, then they need to do it. It's called capitalism. Strive to better your own company and put the other guys out of business. It's the foundation our country is built on.
On a last note, love the avatar. Even if we disagree on the airline biz, looks like we can agree on "Up the Irons!" Aces high!
