Break your Ipad, your personal bought case will do nothing to insure you against a $600 claim if the company decides to charge you. Good luck printing a new Ipad on the company crew room printers.
I am getting a little tired of this, but what the hell. The point here is that YOU BOUGHT something to supplement the company property. Whether it is to carry or protect or whatever, you bought it out of necessity. Other pilots BOUGHT the bag or case that worked for them. You BOUGHT a used flight case, and that apparently makes it OK to you, so I will go on EBAY and buy a used Ipad case. Does that really change the issue at hand here? Second, I know that the company will charge me for a broken Ipad, case or not, just like they will charge me for lost or damaged jepps, case or not. The point of the case is to reduce the possibility of that unfortunate circumstance in the first place.
