Reason I ask is because in the app, it lists if I've had any gaps in employment and why....but as an independent contractor, sometimes you just do...... - would that be an issue?
I would just fill in the blanks as it asks. I'm not an HR expert but id assume its more of the generic fill in the blank lines showing you have had a job and explaining any long gaps in employment. I seem to remember there being an definition of what they see as a long gap in employment on the app. (don't hold me to that)I would just fill it out how it appears. I've reviewed resumes from several independent contractors and didn't move them to the "no pile" for short gaps in employment. I actually only asked a question to one guy who had a 4 month gap and he quickly explained that they don't spray a bunch of crops in the winter time. Great answer and moved on from there without a second thought.
The only employment questions I was asked back in December @ PSA was about my current job as an operations manager and how much flying I did holding that position. I also think that was just small talk because the HR lady had stepped in the hallway for a moment to take a phone call. After that it just rolled into the normal aircraft flown and simple systems questions like mentioned in the gouge.
