It's actually a slap in the face to Delta to imply that networking is the key to your dream job. Delta is a world renowned company and to think they just hire you because your their neighbor is an insult. They have a process and some don't like it but the truth is, it's a very fair process. I would be upset if Delta was hiring just anybody because they networked which doesn't seem like a fair process. Please don't say networking is the way to an interview because it's not!
Flycameron,
If you re-read our last post, it simply says our 91/135 clients all went to job fairs. Not implying that means a ticket to an interview by any means.
We're very aware of DL's hiring process and with years of prior interview team and pilot recruitment experience personally, I can assure you a handshake goes a long way, no matter what anyone tells you.
