I'd rather make more money out of a solid contract with proper pay rates and other compensation, than having to work outside my line utilizing company inefficiencies to make more money. We should not have to rely on those inefficiences. They will slowly disappear. The LOA may not be perfect, but you get 5 hours pay per day, can utilize your EFB on your work days, and not have to eat up additional days off going to training twice for what should be one event. I may be crazy, but that is how I see it.
Sounds like you'd fit in at AA. I'd rather not give the company 'efficiencies'. You're entitled to your opinion, but it sounds like you're ready to march down the road to PBS et al. Not having to work hard is why I like it at Spirit. If we turn this place into any other airline, I may as well go to Delta. Like it or not, we're unlikely to match them in total compensation next time around.
