The fun begins when you would normally get on a flight in said Jumpseat but you encounter the power tripping gate agent who just can't seem to find the time to list you. Then you get to watch your commute to work or trying to go home push from the gate.
Many of us commuters can handle being bumped by someone senior or mainline vs regional, it's the little things like gate agents who make up their own rules, captains not making the walk, or whatever. It can take years off your life at the amount of stress you can get. For example, go to bed thinking your easy commute to work has 30 open seats and you are number 2 on the list. Something happens in some parallel world and you wake up to seeing the first flight being oversold by 15 and you are number 25 on the Nonrev list.
