I was the hiring manager at that company for engineering after the flight department shut down.
We were getting notices of noncompliance from the Department of Labor. Where do you think all that data they ask about age, sex, race, ethnic groups at new hire training goes.
We had a dedicated affirmative action manager at corporate headquarters in Houston.
If your company hires 90% males, you need to more or less hire every qualified woman who applies and wants the job.
We hired two women pilots with barely stated requirements and none of the not required but desired qualifications such as turbine time, ATP, King Air time, etc.
