I completely see where you are coming from, but to play the Devil's Advocate, there will still be training conflicts, just not as many. The company will implement the EFB/DL per the contract anyway. Maybe they will be happy with that, and abandon an LOA revision if it gets voted down. Who knows? All I do know is that I do not bank my paycheck on a training conflict. We need our new contract to reflect a compensation package that gives us what we deserve so that we do not need to nitpick about stuff like this. Just so you know, I would never advocate for getting rid of our bidding conflicts, or even consider PBS, as some have suggested. We deserve a lot more, and our company, and the industry, is in the position to give it to us, willingly or not.
