I really think people put too much stock in flying hours. Like someone else said, if it was just a battle of flying hours, a computer could simply email out job offers in order of the flight hours that you have listed in the application system.
In short, they are looking for a balanced person who is well-educated, well-trained, and is an experienced aviator. Not just the dude with the most hours or the highest GPA.

As toobdrvr1 stated as well. Can't say thanks enough for sharing the direct information. Like you said some of it leaves it to be generic and subjective, but it gives ideas and guidelines.
