I would like to think that if they saw you working full time as a bag slinger or as an enlisted Air Force mechanic full time from 2001-2008 while also completing a bachelors during that same time, that they would be able to put 2 and 2 together seeing you bust your ass with a full time job and a full-time student load. Either way, try to annotate that somewhere in your application about working full-time while getting your undergrad. Hopefully that is a very well-deserved exception to the 5-year degree time limit.
Now, if you are like some people I know and blew Daddy's money for 8 years, while not working on the side, and all you have to show is a 2.0 GPA in history degree. Well, I can see why they would frown upon that.
Thanks for validating what I believed to be a good advice from others. Your insight is very helpful for those of us on the outside looking in.
