IF you feel you need to fly to stay proficient, call your chief and express that concern. That was advice given to me by my chief as a new hire, that he would make things happen. It will probably be IAH flying. I am guessing they would displace a lineholder. That IS one of the great things about SkyWest.
As far as sitting around on reserve... flying ebbs and flows. You'll see
