Every year there has been flows, there have been hold backs - its SOP! It doesn't mean the house is falling down.
There are reserve green days for LAX FOs, we are overstaffed if anything.
The CA side is just fine too. So they have to offer some critical pay every once in a while - it's cheaper than running an upgrade class in September or October and having to pay for it. Since they waited, their mainline partner pays for the training.
As far as SLIP instructors, they all love working doubles and getting PAID!
Nobody should lose sleep over this.
the thing is that we are getting several new planes and flowing pilots at the same time. That's not SOP. This is a new scenario in the Compass world.
Some of the SLIP guys might like working doubles but a majority of those guys will be flowing with hardly any replacements ready to take their place. Like someone said, there will be a lack of instructors, not sims. Some guys are getting 3 weeks off between their MVs and their GBLs, LOFTs, and LOEs. It's just the beginning .
