Actually I would bet we will see it sooner than a lot of people think. What is the difference in dispatch sending paperwork to a printer vs. us getting a PDF on the surface? It would be very easy to have wifi at every gate that we use to download paperwork in PDF form. The only thing I can see staying paper is the signed portion of the release. And that is only because getting the FAA to sign off on some form of electronic signature will take decades.

I wonder how much Delta would save on boxes of dot matrix printer paper, printers, and ink if we didn't print 100 pages per flight every day. I'll bet it is a TON of money.
