They know, but by all means, file an NCC and see what happens. No MEC support = no teeth. The only reason an NCC or a full blown grievance has any effect on the company is the threat of arbitration, and you can't go to arbitration with out the MEC. Therefore I am asking all who have been affected, or care about work rules, to join in a group grievance.
We need to be contacting the Scheduling committee with our concerns. This is not a personal matter, an individual grievance or a NCC is not the effective way to proceed.
Disappointed with the 70% yes vote.
To stay on course and optimistic, I need to convince myself that this is not indicative of how the group will be voting this summer.
It may not be a positive sign, but not the end of the world either.
Only consolation is that this LOA is a miniscule detail in comparison to what is being decided this summer.
