I can tell you that in my October class of 35, there were three that didn't make it to the checkride. 2 were invited back in 6 months. 1 was on his second trip through Indoc.
If you think that the numbers would be different at any other regional that was tripling the fleet in under 3 years you're kidding yourself. They'd take everyone they though had a reasonable chance to pass and let the examiners figure it out.
Because, bottom line, if you can't get past the examiner, you aren't going anywhere.
