It's the junior Denver captains that are most likely to get displaced if that does occur.
I really hope it can play out that way, and again, what you're saying is more or less what they told us. However, there was one haunting statement the CEO made: "If there are displacements, we will get with FAPA and make sure to handle it in the best way possible to minimize the impact on our crews" Or something to that effect. Basically, in my mind, it was a tacit admission that it was on the table. But of course all things naturally would be on the table right?

The other thing he said that struck me as a bit odd, and I'm kicking myself for not following up for more details, was that they are looking for, or have looked into other airports in Colorado, to operate out of, other than Denver. When he said this, I envisioned a VERY small crew base associated with 6 airplanes parked at Fort-Love LOL! No, honestly, I have no idea what that vision is, but he mentioned it twice.

The overarching (read-between-the-lines) event for me was the careful, detailed, and appropriately lengthy explanation to us as to the myriad of reasons why Denver is not working.

But you're right - FO side will certainly naturally attrit as upgrades clear out. But... have you ever had the pleasure of hind-teat at a base in the process of reduction? Or conversely volunteered early to the base that was growing? I've done both; my experience may be the outlier, but one was very painful, the other pretty great.

And - just thinking out loud here - if we have to leave for the left seat eventually anyway, maybe just ripping the bandaid off quickly, is the answer.

Jr CA's in Denver definitely affected most. Probably most would NOT opt back to DEN FO, but some might. Any of this will drive the upgrade time out east even lower.

Thanks guys for putting up with my long posts
