I spoke recently to a Chief LCA when I was jump seating. He stated he has tried to help a good friend of his that he has known for years. He has even tried going to the pilot selection group and speak personally on behalf of his friend. He said that he was told "walk in" information for an applicant was not accepted and that everything that counts is on Airlineapps.

As time passes and they keep interviewing individuals there will probably come a time when they will be more accepting to this form of recognizing an applicant. This part is obviously my opinion and I'm not anyone in the real "know" about it. What I would do in your situation is get that person to write you a letter anyway and see if they know anyone they can talk to - you just don't ever know what it could do for you. Maybe that will be a way to help get you noticed. Again what I am writing in this paragraph is my opinion, but what I wrote in the first paragraph is direct information from a Chief LCA.

Hope this helps.
