As you know, I used my name on the old, now gone Spiritpilotboard, and I'll ask you this: do I receive any respect from my detractors because I used my name there or because they know who I am here? Absolutely not.
Let me put it this way, whether you want to admit it or not, pilots are reluctant to engage in truly honest dissension on a "use your real name forum", because people like the above mentioned ex FLL FO rep - ARE intimidators. We all know it.
Some like his antics because they think they agree with his agenda, some despise his antics because they don't feel that a union rep should be a bully. As long as pilots are required to ID themselves, you won't get much discussion when another member of your forum is such a person. He still represents SPA ALPA in the minds of most Spirit pilots regardless of his current status as just a line pilot. The NC Chair and he are long time friends, he is still influential and pilots don't want to take a chance in getting on the wrong side of power.
As far as the APC participants who would like all things negative to Spirit to be taken to NKPilots, it aint gonna happen……for the aforementioned reason.
Again, there are many other uses for nkpilots besides politics. It is not meant to replace a union meeting and it is not an ideal place to vent out frustration (but you can if that is what you want). Real names comes with limitations and advantages as well. Use it as you wish or as it fits you, or do not use it at all. It is up to you.
