Forgive me, I have searched, but can't find any kind of "start here" discussions for guys thinking about converting from mil to civ, hopefully major's, careers. As I read threads throughout, I see acronyms that make a mil careerist blush, but have no idea where to start 'learning' about the QOLs, short/long haul, how to commute, to live in domicile or not, best benefits/retirements...

Many of these are obviously opinions, but I can't believe there isn't a thread covering this type of discussion.
