LoL it's nothing personal to the new guy. The most important quality is that you can fly the crap out of the plane if it deems necessary. Second most important trait is that the other guy or girl won't want to strangle you in the hotel room after the first day. As an FO, you don't really have a choice but to go along with the tone that is set by the captain. Without arguing right or wrong, unless the captain breaks the rules blatantly or is putting the lives of passengers and crew in danger, it's hard for the FO to speak up. However it's worse to go behind the captain's back and report the captain to pro standards and the company. At least have the decency to confront the person in a non threatening and professional manner. Most will respect that a lot more... most...

There are a FEW captains that I want to stick their heads in the APU exhaust after few legs but those d bags aren't too common.
