Pinnacle guys getting $20,000 a year retention bonuses? Even the bean counters at Delta could see that Comair wasn't that expensive.
Delta cut off their nose to spite their face. They never forgave Comair for striking and winning. They had to show CMR ALPA and the rest of the regional industry what happens to minions who dare think they are worthy of livable wages and work rules in a segment who's business model is designed to NOT have them.
So far the managements have been winning. The lack of applicants may one day change things but for now the quick upgrades at the bottom feeders are attracting newhires to the lowest common denominators.
