I guess since AARP has such a strong lobby, there is no counterbalance towards reason. My experience: a large fraction of the 64.999 guys are half deaf, slow to react, don't understand CRM and are generally miserable to be around. If I am pushing dirty airplanes around the world at that age, it's very likely that I have made a series of bad choices. I'm 40 now and can't imagine living out of a suitcase in sometimes dirty and noisy hotels eating Shanghai catering for 25+ more years.
