I think the whole point of mental math questions on the test is to ensure pilots are able to double-check whether what the Honeywell or Collins is doing is reasonable. That said, this one is a pretty goofy question with little real world applicability. Curious if it's actually on the test or where the poster got it from.
I believe the question is meant to see if you will spend all 60 minutes of your time trying to figure out a useless question. I found this question in an old gouge that was given to me. I have no idea if it's on the test but it's in one of the gouges.
