By the same token, the musical chairs whipsaw will also be over by that time; in other words, the airlines growing by getting new planes will also have settled down.
So where would be the place with the most movement in a few years if no one is growing? How about the place with the most attrition? envoy has the latgest flow as a percentage of its pilot group. It has the most senior pilots retiring in the next 5 years. envoy will be the most movement in 2-3 years time.
I was not advocating envoy because I thought they were shutting us down slowly. After speaking with a reputable source at AAG, and seeing what they are doing now to retain and attract pilots, I am certain they are not shutting the place down. They got the cost structure they wanted to profit from a wholly owned.
FWIW:
I am currently 3 years, 6mos on reserve. Cannot hold a line. Cannot hold weekends off on reserve.
