2. First words out of dispatcher's mouth, after losing an engine over PHX, enroute SAN-ATL was "We'd kind of like you to bring it to ATL". I called them again on the ground in PHX.
3. 5 years after retirement, my pension [along with many others] was terminated and turned over to the PBGC for pennies on the dollar.
So, for 31 years of service, I now have a small life insurance policy and low class of priority for airline passes. Best of luck, but keep your vision clear.
I feel for you. That is no way to treat someone whom you consider valuable to the company. You were screwed in bankruptcy too, no doubt about it.

I can't say with certainty that the new Delta has changed. We are now in control of our own retirement plans so bankruptcy can't screw us like it did you. Unfortunately we learned from your experience. Anecdotally, I've been treated as well as I could have hoped. I've had to use bereavement leave twice in the past three months and both times the CPO went above and beyond our contractual guarantees. I've also had a child in that time and they told me I could have off whatever time I needed (one APD did the trick).

My experience is one of 12,000+ so I'm not claiming anything other than it has been a pleasure to work for this company so far. YMMV...
