First off, he doesn't fly the 717. He didn't complain about anything, he was trying to be helpful. This is, after all, a thread where new hires share info and ask questions. One question that has popped up a lot lately is "what plane will get me to ATL fastest." What he offered about the 717 is in that regard was utterly germane to a new hire who knows they are going to NYC, but wants to pick the plane that will get them to ATL asap. Past experience doesn't equal future performance, but for a new guy that wants to get to ATL asap, the 717 appears to be the worst choice. "Stagnant" is a very loaded term, probably was not the best choice.
