The experience of the pilots I have flown with is amazing and I have, and will, continue to learn form that experience. But this holding on to the "old" way or not following the SOP because its stupid is not ok with me. The way it used to be done was perfectly safe but its not how its done now.
Don't you think we are doing the new hires a dis service by n
ot following the SOP they have less than 100 hrs flying under? What are we teaching these new guys/gals?

Can you give me a specific example of an SOP that you have seen violated? You've been speaking in such generalities. I want to know an example so I can put it on a scale of Importance from 1-10. And I'm not saying one SOP is any more/less important than another. I just need a baseline to figure out to what degree the sky is falling.
