First off, he doesn't fly the 717. He didn't complain about anything, he was trying to be helpful. This is, after all, a thread where new hires share info and ask questions. Past experience doesn't equal future performance, but for a new guy that wants to get to ATL asap, the 717 appears to be the worst choice. Pile on...I personally know BlaneO. He served honorably in the militaty for 20+ years and is now starting his second career. Trust me, he's not of the entitlement attitude. He's simply trying to help other newbies make as informative of a decision as they can.
As a new hire myself, I can say that we can't possibly truly understand what the past decade and a half has been like for those on property. We know we are starting at some great times. All we can do is heed the advice of those before us and learn as much as we can.
But, it stinks when someone is trying to help someone out and is given grief from others for giving honest feedback. Trust me, we have nothing but mad respect for those above us that went through some rough times. I saw my father go through all of it, so I kind of understand. But it's not an entitlement attitude to express what is the fastest way to get to ATL...at 2014 paces. Just my humble opinion.
