He has around 11k in the bank and will get CFI certificates in 30 days and will start instructing afterwards in the pipeline program. Is this a good idea??? He has a job secured after getting is CFI CFII MEI. He also mentioned living in base at DFW. Is there anything he needs to know or will this be a good idea. He also says if he doesn't meet Atp requriements in 24 months it will cost him $15-$20k for his ATP. Hes basically going all in. Thanks for your help.
How many hours does he have now? If he wants to instruct getting his CFI tickets would be a good thing.
My prediction is that within a year just about every regional out there will be offering the CTP program as a part of their new hire process, so I wouldn't worry about trying to beat that 24 month clock if that's going to limit his options, or put him in a risky spot financially.
Again, the above is my opinion only, but as many regionals are already offering the CTP, it seems plausible.
