I think Mike is right. Only you can decide if it was worth it. I would equate it to being stuck in traffic. You can sit there with everyone else feeling like you are barely moving (not going to a job fair) or try to take an alternate route (going to the job fair). The alternate route may cost more in gas and may not be faster but at least you might feel better that you were moving and doing something other than sitting still.

Personnally I go to the job fairs because it's worth the risk to me not to have any regrets.
