If you look at the last projected training/conversion window you can see how they handled guys swapping bases on the same aircraft. That AE had a small conversion window though but most everyone were swapped in Month 2-4 of the 6 month window. So nothing was immediate but it was timely.
However, in my personal experience I notice that conversions are done to have people in position for the summer. So they could move fast if they need people in ATL (which could happen if guys bid off in mass) or if that doesn't happen then keep you in NYC until the end of summer. Depends on how the AE shakes out.
If I'm not mistaken, conversions are figured out by hand. Years ago they explained how it goes down. I think it's a mind boggling process.
Your situation is tough to predict because you are basically at the whim of the atl 717b s. The first wave Are about to come off seat lock and the million dollar question is well they stay or go. If lots leave you can easily get atl717 spot. If not then who knows. Plus if senior guys leave they will leave first bc they are more senior leaving displacements to filter in. But if no one leaves then you are waiting for the awarded 15 or others to come and that will be a while bc we atl717b are well staffed compared to most fleets.
