There used to be samples in the resources part of this page. I don't think they need to be anything unique to aviation. 1/2 to 2/3 of a page should do. As the person explain how they know you and for how long, then to pick one or two aspects to highlight and discuss thoroughly, so it doesn't just read like a laundry list of desirable attributes.
