At some point I wonder if we need to stop non-stop service from smaller market to LGA and run multiple leg flights to LGA like SWA. You could turn LGA into an all mainline operation?
How about no more nonstop from LGA to CHO, CHS, SAV, ILM, MYR, AGS, CAE and GSP and instead combine some of those into single 88/717 flights?
LaGuardia is always more complicated than it seems.
A direct flight to New York City is a very political thing for a mid-size town.
Its the #1 thing their Chamber of Commerce advertises to businesses.
We would have a Congressman and 2 senators furious at us for every one of those flights we discontinue.
Senator Charles Schumer basically founded jetBlue because he was upset about USAir's decisions on routes out of LGA to upstate NY.
