Military, civilian, corporate, space shuttle...doesn't matter once you get the interview...they know you can fly, be taught Delta procedures...they only are looking for personalities. IMO that is why no sim ride. Besides...people ace sim rides by practicing profiles if given the opportunities and financial resource to rent sim time prior to interview...not necessarily an even playing field for all.
In the "Pre-Internet" days of interviewing, they did have you fly the sim, (727 in my case). The instructor told me that was just to verify you are who you say you are, and you can do what you say you can do. I had never flown a 727 so I was a bit nervous of course, but he said, "Don't worry, you did fine." He went on to say, "If you came in here and said you were a 727 Captain and I failed an engine on you at V1, and you dorked it up, well, either you suck or you aren't a 727 Captain."

I was told that a couple years into the last huge hiring spree (1985-1991) they did away with the sim ride but only for the Military guys, the Civilians still had to fly it as part of their interview.

I was told that was because they could easily verify what the Military guys had been flying with their flight records and a call to their squadron. But not so with the Civilians, so they made them fly the sim to prove they could indeed fly. Of course this was pre-RJ time too. Now, with the internet, DCC's and 50% of the Domestic market being flown by RJ's it's pretty easy for the company to verify who you are and what you've been doing, thus no need to prove it again.

You may want to clean up your Facebook page however, get rid of all those pictures of you partying with Mike Phelps!
