A Ryan pilot tells me that Ryan Air has implemented a $27,000/18 month or 1,200 hour training contract for new hires! This was confirmed by another company pilot, who also said that new hires were not advised of the training contract until after the completion of Basic Indoc.
I can't imagine any new hire agreeing to a $27,000 training contract to sit right seat in a CASA 212. Ryan doesn't type SICs. When newly minted commercial pilots can go to several other Alaska outfits and fly right seat without having to sign any contract I can't fathom why they would opt to go to Ryan.
