It is a very nice facility...for 2 or 3 nights... for 6.5 weeks, I am EXTREMELY happy I am at a residence inn. I can control what and how much I spend to eat, as I sit here munching on a monster 3 egg omelet I just made in my kitchenette for probably $3 or $4, and that is a huge deal for me.
Which is why I was extremely happy to read today's JFK MEC email that said the Lodge will only be for newhires and recurrent training. Upgrades/transitions will most likely be elsewhere. I can handle 2 or 3 nights for recurrent, but longer... ugh.
Sucks for the new guys to be held hostage there, but at least the next time I go to training for several weeks I most likely won't have to worry about sharing one fridge and a microwave with over 25 other people, most of whom wouldn't bat an eye at stealing a beer or food.
