You should have denied him the Jumpseat. Absolutely.
My first Captain off of IOE reamed me a new a**hole on Leg one for tossing my crew-bag into the closet before offering to help the F/A with hers. I just had no idea about the common courtesy and privileges in this Industry - and I wish I could thank him today for tearing into me because I'd still be making a fool out of myself :-)
Next time you see one of those young slick Pilots, bring the hammer down on 'em. They've got to take off their diapers at some point - for everybody's sake!
Exp,
you sound like a great guy, but I caution you, don't play politics with the jumpseat. The tit for tat can get out of hand, and the next thing you know, some guy is going to loose his job because he couldn't commute to work because he got denied for a tit for tat reason. NO politics with the jumpseat.
