But countless people are so clueless as to the need to study and research the cog that it is kind of embarrassing. Not sure the cog takes down more people than the other two. All of the non-selects on my interview last year hooked the panel. I know of a few who have failed the cog, a smaller number who have failed the knowledge.
From feedback I've gotten from what is nearing 100 DAL interviewees, the panel is still a huge discriminator. Day 2 psych is also significant, though most I know have been reinstated by the board.
However, the cog is significant. There is good gouge out there. More importantly, you need to make sure your brain is ready. Prep through mind games, Lumosity, puzzles, etc is good, but I think even more important is good exercise, rest, nutrition, and hydration. Just like they teach in survival school - the better condition in which you show up, the better you'll do in the trial.
