Hawaii is now a gateway, and not just HNL, either.

LOTS of guys live overseas. Usually, the travel is not too bad. Here are some recent examples:

Co. buys ticket for guy from Kiev to Western Europe, where he starts a trip.
Guy in Philippines pays cheap ticket to HKG, company buys him ticket from HKG to ANC to start a trip (or he DH on atlas to ANC).
Guy in Dubai gets ticket paid for by co. from DXB to Asia to start a trip.
Some guys overseas still have US gateway, and their overseas tickets are usually cheaper than his US gateway tickets.
Another guy overseas says his Gateway is in HI, and the company usually pays for his travel.

Guys live in Europe, S. America, the Carribbean, Middle East, Asia, Australia, Canada. If you want to live overseas Atlas (or Kalitta) is much better than DAL/UAL/AA.
