Yes, I just saw the contractual language on that. "Redeye-plus-one pairings have any duty period portion within the hours of 0200 and 0459 local domicile time and after the first flight leg a subsequent flight leg scheduled to depart after 0300 local domicile time."
I can only assume the "spirit" of this language is to prevent a jungle turn redeye from getting you back after the sun comes up. I.E. a GUA turn that departs at 0100, and the second leg departs at 0400 and puts you back at the gate at 0700.
It appears we may be up against just a really early report, with 2 legs. As far as the union/company go. We've been flying this pairing for years. So I'm sure someone has brought it up.
