A daily window that closes in the late afternoon that allows everyone an equal opportunity to bid. This removes the guys using auto-bidding software out of the equation. Then make the assignments automatic based on seniorty. Moreover, let people from out of base to continue picking it up. Since its seniority based, it's self correcting.
Regarding some junior guys not liking the seniority concept... not sure what to say other than eventually you will be senior.

you have no proof of auto biddin software being used. bring some proof before making accusations. I think there are people who have there wives doin it, but good on em. It's first come first served if you want to pick up open time then pick it up, quit whining because you cant get your choice.
Leave the open time like it is, theres nothing wrong with daily open, initial open time is seniority based.
