However, any injury at all, he really needs to not be using his sick leave, this is a definitive workers comp injury. Anything more than minor, FedEx could be looking at a lawsuit, for the typically defective slide. Has it ever worked in any emergency evacuation?
I flew with someone who said once you accept workman's comp, you cannot sue the company for damages, so choose wisely.
I also heard the FO on this flight broke 3 vertebrae.
